The 2021 NFL Draft is just one day away and after months of speculation, we will finally know who the LA Chargers will pick with the 13th overall pick and beyond.

This draft is different from last year. While there were still some draft narratives, it was wildly accepted that the Bolts were going to pick a quarterback with the sixth overall pick. And they did. There was no surprise there.

This year is different. The Chargers are a bit further down the draft order so there are more variables to consider. There are also multiple directions that the team can go with the pick itself.

It does not matter what direction the team goes as long as it can put together a good and complete draft class. If that is the case, certain Chargers, in particular, will be beneficiaries.

LA Chargers who will benefit the most from a strong 2021 draft class:

1. Justin Herbert

This is obvious. The entire M-O this offseason should have been making Justin Herbert‘s life easier and they have done that to an extent. The front office landed Corey Linsley and brought in Oday Aboushi and Matt Feiler to help block on the inside.

If the best versions of these players show up then Herbert is already going to have much more protection in 2021 than he had in 2020.

A strong draft class will only make his life easier. Most of the class will likely be defensive players because of Brandon Staley but there is one big selection that the team should be making: left tackle.

Hopefully, that selection comes in the first round but as long as the Chargers can draft a stable and productive left tackle then I will be happy. Tom Telesco has only drafted one first-round offensive lineman in his career and it is time to make it two.
