With the 118th overall pick, the LA Chargers select Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State
Perhaps the LA Chargers need to just draft every single Florida State defensive player. The team already has Derwin James and already took Asante Samuel Jr in this mock draft. In the fourth round, they complete the trifecta with safety Hamsah Nasirildeen.
Safety is a need for the LA Chargers that is not talked about enough, in my opinion. While I am a huge fan of Rayshawn Jenkins, I think his play priced him out of Los Angeles. With James healthy and the potential of Nasir Adderley, I would not be shocked whatsoever if the Chargers are okay with letting Jenkins walk.
I predicted that Jenkins would sign with the Cleveland Browns, who have the cap space to bring him in and have a need at safety. Regardless, if Jenkins walks then the team needs safety help.
The exciting part about Nasirildeen is his versatility. He is someone who played both safety positions in college, can play slot corner and could even line up in the box. Think Derwin James-lite, which is fitting as he comes from the same school as James.
Nasirildeen can essentially be what Desmond King was for this team. King was a fan-favorite, so maybe Nasirildeen would be a fan-favorite as well.
