The LA Chargers have a big offseason ahead as the team looks to build on the foundation that was laid in 2024 under Jim Harbaugh. With far more cap resources and a deep selection of draft picks, the Chargers are in a position to make real noise this offseason.

Chargers fans certainly have a wish list of players they want to see in Los Angeles and they are not alone. All-Pro safety Derwin James has not been shy about his offseason desires and outright told Keenan Allen to come back home to LA while shooting his shot with Tee Higgins.

James is not alone on the recruitment front as breakout linebacker Daiyan Henley is also doing his part to bring more talent to Los Angeles. One Chargers fan nudged Henley to tell DK Metcalf to come to Los Angeles this offseason, to which the young linebacker had a rather simple response:

DK Metcalf-Chargers rumors continue thanks to Daiyan Henley

DK Metcalf appears to be on the trade block this offseason. The Chargers quickly emerged as a logical destination for Metcalf and kickstarted the rumors about a potential trade.

Henley has already added fuel to this fire earlier this offseason by selectively posting old photos of him and Metcalf working out together after the rumblings first started. Henley and Metcalf do have a rapport, so the former very well could look to influence the latter.

It is not solely Metcalf's decision where he goes. Metcalf is not a free agent will have to play wherever he is traded to (if he is traded at all) this offseason. Henley can do all the convincing in the world but it won't guarantee anything.

That being said, Metcalf can have some influence on the process. The superstar wideout is due for a new contract this offseason and he could leverage that to land somewhere he prefers. Essentially, Metcalf and his camp can tell teams he does not want to be traded to that he will not sign an extension.

Said teams can still trade for Metcalf but they would only be trading for one season and potential future headaches. This could bow them out of the market, forcing the Seahawks to trade Metcalf to a team he prefers to play for.

The Chargers have a huge need at wide receiver and also employ Metcalf's former WRs coach. With a superstar quarterback under center, there may not be a better fit in the entire league than the Chargers for Metcalf's services.

Thus, Henley may not even need to do much convincing. But at least fans know he will try.
