The 2024 NFL Draft was filled with many surprises, mainly that six quarterbacks were taken in the first round, including the Falcons' head-scratching pick of Michael Penix Jr., and no big-time trades were made on draft day.

Despite all the chaos, the Chargers left with an impressive haul of players that will inevitably boost their roster this upcoming season, which partly helps heal the wounds that free agency left on their fans. Now, the focus can shift to the rest of the offseason, with the first exciting part being the schedule release.

The NFL is reportedly going to release the 2024 schedules next week, and although we don't know the order of the games just yet, we do know who the Chargers will face.

With that information, we also know the rookies they'll be lining up against, some of whom are already feeling a bit intimidating.

WR Xavier Worthy - Chiefs

Why wouldn't there be a Chiefs receiver on this list, right?

As if it weren't bad enough that a divisional rival picked the fastest receiver in the draft, the fact the Bills essentially handed the Chiefs Xavier Worthy makes the entire situation worse. We were so close to avoiding having to specifically game plan for a player who ran a ridiculous 4.21-second 40-yard dash.

Instead, the Chargers will have to guard him twice a year for the foreseeable future.

Worthy was one of the more impressive receivers in the 2024 draft class, so it was a little shocking that he fell so low in the first round. He proved to be an excellent separator with solid tracking skills that allowed him to easily break free from defenders.

He will now have Patrick Mahomes throwing to him the football, which feels like a potential recipe for disaster for an improving Chargers secondary.
