3. None of the non-quarterback options are better than Tua

There is a case to be made that if the LA Chargers do not have their favorite quarterback, whoever that might be, to choose from with the sixth overall pick then the team is going to go with the best available prospect, which can go three ways.

More from Bolt Beat

It can either be linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who is a freakishly athletic and gifted all-around defensive player, or Jeff Okudah, the best corner in the draft who is also a likely future Pro Bowler. The third option would be to take the best left tackle available out of the assortment of options.

While I am not against the Chargers doing that in the slightest, I would still rather see the team draft Tua with the sixth pick if he is on the board rather than spending the selection on other areas of the roster.

Of those three selections, only one is worth taking in the first round and even with that, the Chargers can get by. Offensive tackle would be the only pick that you could try and make a case over quarterback in terms of roster needs but even then, the Chargers have revamped the offensive line and have decent options to start at left tackle.

It could be improved but it certainly is not dire.

Whie cornerback is a need, I do not think it is a big enough need to take in the first round, especially after the signing of Chris Harris. And while it would be insanely fun to see Simmons running around the defense and terrorizing opposing offenses, quarterback is a much bigger need than another linebacker.

Are any of those options bad options? Not in the slightest. However, in terms of what the player is bringing to the team and what it needs, Tua Tagovailoa would be a much better selection for the LA Chargers.
