Los Angeles Chargers: Updated fits for Melvin Gordon
By Jason Reed
3. Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles could be one of the best teams in the NFL if they stay healthy and they proved that in their Super Bowl-winning season. Granted, that was three seasons ago now and things change, but the Eagles still fought and got into the playoff despite dealing with the worst injuries in the NFL.

The team has targets for quarterback Carson Wentz and even just added elite cornerback Darius Slay, going all-in on building a Super Bowl-caliber roster once more. The one position that the tea could improve in, at least on the offensive side of the ball, is at running back.
Now, with the Eagles, this would have to be a case of Gurley getting the better offer from either of the Florida teams mentioned above and Gordon really not getting what he is worth. While the Eagles have cap space now, the NFL Draft and any other free agent signings, such as re-signing left tackle Jason Peters, will reduce that.
Gordon probably would get something around four years for $25-28 million and that would push the Eagles right up against the cap.
While the team already has Carson Wentz on a new contract, the concern would be the secondary, as the Eagles have several members of the secondary whose contracts are up after this season and signing Gordon could make things harder for the team.
However, as they have already proven this offseason, they are in it to win it and if Gordon’s value hits a point where they think it is worth it then they should be the front-runners to bring him in.
