The Los Angeles Chargers running game could be without two big playmakers on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

No excuses! We play with the players that are available and that is how we go into every game! Melvin Gordon is still recovering from his knee injury and still has not hit the practice field. Not sure if he will be ready to get to the field on Thursday. I would rather him be healthy for the playoffs then him force his way onto the field for a regular season game.

At the end of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Austin Ekeler took a hit and has a stinger and a possible concussion. He wasn’t able to practice and unless there is a dramatic change, he won’t be able to hit the field on Thursday.

In comes Justin Jackson! The rookie has impressed in limited snaps and he was the shining star against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was not as impressive in the run game against the Bengals though.

Jackson could be the lead back going into Thursday and how does that make everyone feel? I don’t know how well Jackson blocks for his quarterbacks yet. Luckily the Chiefs don’t send a lot of blitzes, but he still will get tested. I always worry about a young quarterback and how well he holds onto the football.

The Chiefs defense has a lot of holes and the Chargers will be able to exploit them. I think Jackson will be able to find holes and Philip will be able to find him out of the backfield. I just hope the team is stressing ball security as much as possible. We have been great at it all year and is one of the reasons why we are winning games. We need to be great again this weekend and we will get that win.

What do you think Jackson will do Thursday?
