Chargers vs. Bills Week 2 open thread: Travis Benjamin won’t play
By Travis Wakeman
The Los Angeles Chargers have traveled east for an early start against the Buffalo Bills.
Both teams lost their season opener, the Bills getting blown out by 44 points by the Baltimore Ravens. That has prompted a quarterback change, and the Chargers will face the rookie Josh Allen, making his first career start, rather than getting Nathan Peterman, the guy they intercepted five times last season.
Though this is an early start on the road, a position in which teams from the west have historically struggled in that spot, there is no excuse for the Chargers to lose this game. The Bills are bad with a capital B.
For the Chargers, the following players have been declared inactive for Sunday’s game.
Travis Benjamin
Emmanuel Ellerbee
Joey Bosa
Cole Toner
Joe Barksdale
T.Y. McGill
Forrest Lamp

It’s not a surprise to see Bosa on that list, as it looks like he could be out until the second month of the season.
Benjamin will miss the contest due to a foot injury. That should give Mike Williams more targets and will make Geremy Davis, an inactive last week, an option.
The offensive line is a growing concern (what’s new?) and the team will be without Barksdale and Lamp for this game. This means we’ll see plenty of Sam Tevi and possibly Trenton Scott, a player the team just promoted from the practice squad.
It’s only Week 2, but the Chargers are in must-win mode after a tough divisional loss last week. Join us in the comment section below to talk about the game and your beloved Bolts!
