Are you ready for Week 13? Come on, Chargers fans, there’s a lot to look forward to!

It’s nice that the Chargers are playing meaningful football in December and more importantly they are playing great football. The defense has been dominant the last two weeks while Philip Rivers and Allen have led this offense on a resurgence.

As we look for the Chargers to continue to dominate this week as they face the hapless Cleveland Browns at Stub Hub, there are also some other games to keep an eye on.  It might seem like an early Christmas if a few of these games tilt in the Chargers favor this weekend

Here are a few games to keep an eye on Sunday morning.

The Kansas City Chiefs travel to New York to face the Jets.  This will be a good test to see how far the Chiefs have fallen.  KC did lose to the Giants. Is it possible they stumble against the Jets? The Jets have been competitive in most of their games and boast wins over Buffalo and Jacksonville. One more loss for the Chiefs and the Chargers control their destiny to the playoffs.

More from Bolt Beat

The Detroit Lions will be in Baltimore facing the Ravens.  This matchup has huge implications for the Chargers’ Wild Card hopes. Baltimore will most likely hold the tiebreaker with the Chargers for that final spot if it comes down to that.  Let’s hope it doesn’t. The Lions could provide a big boost to the Chargers’ playoff hopes if they beat the Ravens on their home field on Sunday. Expect this to be a close game. Go Lions!

The New England Patriots take their 7-game win streak into Buffalo to face the Bills. No time for New England to falter now. The biggest roadblock standing in the Bills way of getting that last Wild Card spot is playing the Patriots twice in the final five games. If Buffalo can work a split on the New England games, they have a good shot at making the playoffs.  As terrible as it sounds, the Chargers are going to want to root for the team directed by that guy who wears the hoodie.

If those three games break the Chargers way in the morning, it will make the afternoon watching of the Chargers dismantling the Browns even sweeter.

But don’t forget Monday night.

Pittsburgh travels to Cincinnati to face the Bengals. The Steelers have won six straight and we certainly hope that they keep that streak rolling.  A loss to Pittsburgh will significantly hurt the Bengals’ shot at the last Wild Card spot.

Enjoy your weekend football viewing!
