10 with Tazz – Moles’ Questions
By Mike Murray
It time again for 10 with Tazz where I answer your Chargers questions. This week I pulled the old switcheroo on you guys. I told you I would just take the best ten questions submitted, but then Michael Moles put together a sweet set of 10 and I just couldn’t help myself. So, here are Michael’s questions…
I love Oliver. I think he is the real deal.
1- Should the Chargers look to start BO over Mel G?I love Oliver. I think he is the real deal. But we drafted Gordon and that is where we are stacking are chips right now. In game one I think the Chargers want to get Gordon some confidence. Get him a couple of good gains to get the first game jitters out of the way and the monkey off his back. Best case scenario is that Gordon busts a run for 10+ and gets a screen pass for 10+. If that happens in the first game its a success for the start of his career.
I would bet that Gordon plays the whole first quarter with Woodhead sprinkled in where appropriate. We will see some Oliver in the second and probably in the 3rd and 4th. McCoy really believes in playing a lot of guys to keep people fresh.

2- Do you think EW will get a new contract before free agency next year?If Eric Weddle really wants to finish out his career as a Charger than this will get done. The Chargers would love to keep him and will offer him a fair contract. If he doesn’t want to be here, we may franchise him and then he will be here one or two more years. I think he would rather be under contract than tagged, so that may be some extra incentive for EW to sign a new contract.
3- Does Antonio G. retire next year?A lot of indicators point that direction. It may depend on how deep we go in the playoffs and how his health goes. I am sure it is on his mind, but I am guessing he wont make that decision until the end of the year.
4- Will the Chargers leave San Diego? (had to put that one in)Here is a recycled answer… This is a hard one. You would think the NFL would keep the Chargers here, especially since the city is making a valiant effort to keep them here. However it looks like Spanos is set on moving the team and he has a lot of pull with the owners. I used to think the Chargers were a lock to stay but now I have it at a coin flip.

5-Does Brad Sorensen get cut?He moves to the practice team. He should be safe there. He has not played well enough that any other team would be coveting his services.
6- What surprises will we see with the starting 11 on defense?Kyle Emanuel. Even if he doesn’t start he will see a lot of time on opening day.
7-Will Stevie J have the most receiving yards this season?Last years numbers: Floyd 856, Gates 821, Allen 783, Royal 778. It looks like it will be a 4 dog race to see who gets the most yards this year.

8- Does Manti have a pro bowl year?Nope.
9- Will Philip buy me a car?No. He is saving money for pizza.
10- Can you tell Arnie to stop yelling at me?I have not seen Arnie for a while. Where is Arnie? Do you ever wonder in Ernie and Arnie are the same guy? Is Arnie, Ernie’s alter ego? Or is Arnie, Ernie’s super hero persona?
