After only one preseason game is it too early to predict the Chargers 53 man Roster? Maybe. But it certainly is not too early to try.
Tazz was prepared to wow all of you by accurately predicting who will make the Chargers 53 man roster, but as I looked over the roster I noticed a few spots that are going to be battles to the end of camp and a few spots that I have not a clue who will fill. So, I could have published this as Tazz’s perfect Chargers 48 man roster, but I figured a few of you would be on to me.
The Chargers offense looks pretty set. The only problems is a few guys will get left off the team that I would really like to keep on there – like Jahwan Edwards. There is no room on the roster for him. He looks like a lock to make the practice squad. Now only if we can keep him hidden there.
Wide receiver is another spot where there is one too many guys. Javontee Herdon made a solid case on Monday to be on this final roster. But if he makes it that is going to either leave Jacoby Jones or Austin Pettis on the outside.
The last question on offense is, ‘Who will fill that 8th lineman spot.” At this point it looks like it is totally up in the air.
On defense there are 3 spots totally up for grabs. I think the team will carry a 5th ILB, a 5th OLB and a 5th Safety. The problem is that Tazz has no idea who those 3 guys will be.
Its a pretty good 48 man roster. Who do you guys think will fill those last 5 spots?
