San Diego Chargers 2015 NFL Draft Day 2 Options
By Ernie Padaon
The San Diego Chargers will be looking for some big uglies in the next couple of rounds. Here are some players the team could consider.
The San Diego Chargers selected Melvin Gordon with their first round selection on Thursday and will be entering round 2 looking for some big uglies. The team needs to find some players in the trenches that can push some people around. They will be looking toward the offensive line and the defensive front 7 in the next couple of rounds.

Here are some of the top players that the Chargers could look at with the 2nd selection in the draft:Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida StateJordan Phillips, DT, OklahomaHenry Anderson, DE, StanfordNate Orchard, DE, UtahHau’oli Kikaha, OLB, WashingtonOwamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA
The Chargers could look at a number of these guys in the next couple of rounds to help the defense, but I don’t believe that the team will select a defensive player until the 3rd round. I expect them to complete fixing the offensive line first and then they will look to find one of these guys. I would expect the team to go after Henry Anderson in the 3rd. He would be a solid player to add on the defensive line and could push Kendall Reyes for the starting role.Hroniss Grasu, C, OregonTJ Clemmings, OT, PittsburghDonovan Smith, OT, Penn StateJake Fisher, OT, OregonRob Havenstein, OT, WisconsinTre’ Jackson, OG, Florida StateAJ Cann, OG, South Carolina
I expect the team to find a big ugly to add onto the offensive line in the next round. I believe that the team will be hoping that Tre’ Jackson is available when they make their selection. He is that Tom Telesco type of player. He dominated in the college game and would get to work with D.J. Fluker on his right side to bust open holes for Melvin Gordon.
If I had to make a prediction on how the next couple of rounds would work for the team, I expect the Chargers to take an offensive lineman in the 2nd round and then finally look to the defense in the next round. The team would then only have their 5th round selection left and might as well use it to move up to take the player they want in the 3rd round if they need to. Tom Telesco has wasted those picks in the past with his selections, so now he is just using them to get the top prospects that he likes.
Round 2: Tre’ Jackson, G, Florida StateRound 3: Hau’oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington
If Randy Gregory is somehow still around in the 3rd round, I don’t think the Chargers will pass on him. I don’t know how he would slide that far, but we did see Keenan make that slide in the past. We shall see.
How do you all think rounds 2 and 3 will go for the Chargers?
