As a seven-time Super Bowl champion who also just happens to be the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown passes, Tom Brady obviously knows a great pass when he sees one. So, when TB12 includes you on his list of the best throws of the year, that's being shown some serious love, which is exactly what Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has received from the future Hall of Famer.
Earlier this week, Brady broke down what he believed to be the best throws of the 2025 regular season, and at No. 2 on the list was the incredible 20-yard touchdown pass from Herbert to Keenan Allen in the late stages of the Chargers' 23-20 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 3.
For those who need a refresher, with the Bolts trailing 20-13 and facing a 2nd-and-6 at the Denver 20-yard line with a little less than three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Herbert took the snap in the shotgun, evaded Broncos' defensive end Zach Allen, rolled to his left, and despite facing more pressure from newly-named Defensive Player of the Year finalist Nik Bonitto, fired a dart to Allen in the end zone.

Cameron Dicker ultimately connected on the extra-point attempt to tie the game at 20-20, and after the Los Angeles defense forced a quick three-and-out, he drained a 43-yard field goal as time expired to give the Chargers the three-point victory.
Tom Brady was in awe of Justin Herbert's TD pass to Keenan Allen
Now, what's wild about that game is that, from an overall standpoint, Herbert certainly didn't play his best. Sure, he threw for 300 yards, but he only completed 59.6 percent of his passes and earned a 76.6 passer rating, which ultimately proved to be his fourth-lowest clip of the regular season.
But that touchdown throw was undoubtedly clutch, which is obviously why Brady chose to make it the No. 2 selection on his list.
"The hardest thing for an NFL quarterback to do is roll to the left, drop your arm angle with someone on you, put enough velocity on the ball to drive it through the defense and enough accuracy to make it right in stride," Brady said. "Unbelievable play by Herbert, shedding a tackle, tucking the ball, untucking the ball, getting hit while he throws it, and then throwing a ball at probably 55, 58 miles an hour running to his left."
Brady went on to call Herbert's toss "one of the most ridiculous plays I saw the entire season," which is accurate.
For those wondering, the top spot went to Caleb Williams for his game-winning 46-yard touchdown pass in overtime to D.J. Moore in the Chicago Bears' Week 16 win over the Green Bay Packers, which is tough to argue against.
