2. Larry Rountree AND Joshua Kelley

Look, we probably sound like a broken record at this point and if you are involved on Chargers Twitter at all then you know this is a popular take among Charger fans but the running backs behind Austin Ekeler have just been so bad this season. It is a problem.

Justin Jackson has shown enough small flashes to keep some fans invested but at the end of the day, he does not bring anything all that special and more importantly is not consistent. The Chargers do not know week-by-week whether or not he is going to be able to play.

The two running backs in Joshua Kelley and Larry Rountree have been really bad. They do not offer anything to this offense in the running or the passing game and the Chargers need to make some sort of roster decision to give Austin Ekeler some help.

Ekeler is fantastic and we will probably see him start playing more snaps as the year goes along but it is clear that the Chargers don't want to overrun him where he won't be impactful in the playoffs. The team still needs some depth at the position and they have to look elsewhere than what they have.

There are three options the Chargers can take. They can elevate Darius Bradwell from the practice squad and give him a chance, they can sign another practice squad running back from a different team or they could sign a free agent.

The team is not going to find an elite option but they certainly can find a better option than what they currently have.
