The no. 1 team in the AFC: LA Chargers

As it stands today, the LA Chargers have the best case to be named the top team in the AFC. Fans of other AFC teams would say that we are biased but the Chargers check off all the boxes to earn the no. 1 spot. Does that mean they will always hold the no. 1 spot and are a lock to be the top seed in the conference? Not at all.

But as it stands after five weeks of action we can definitively say that the Chargers are the best team in their conference.

Just look at the schedule that the Chargers have had to play thus far. The first six weeks of the team's schedule is by far the toughest part of the entire season and the fact that the Bolts are 4-1 is incredible. If they can beat Baltimore in Week 6 then they are in a great position to win the AFC West.

The Chargers have a win over the no. 5 and no. 4 ranked team on this list, as well as the no. 8 ranked team. Compare that to the Bills, whose other wins outside of Kansas City and Washington was the 13th-ranked team and 15th-ranked team. Two wins over Vegas and Cleveland are far more impactful than Miami and Houston.

The Chargers have the talent, they have the coaching and they have an MVP-caliber quarterback. There is still a lot of football left to play but they have all the makings of being a Super Bowl-caliber team.

The Bolts are the top team in the conference. No questions.
