The LA Chargers released their final Week 2 injury report on Friday prior to their game against the Carolina Panthers. Safety Alohi Gilman (knee) was officially listed as doubtful after not practicing for the entire week. Los Angeles has four players listed as questionable for Sunday's contest: edge rusher Joey Bosa (back), running back Hassan Haskins (toe), wide receiverJoshua Palmer (knee), and CB Ja'Sir Taylor (fibula).

Palmer was Friday's lone practice downgrade as he went from a limited participant on Thursday to not practicing. Jim Harbaugh gave his usual injury line at media availability in saying that Palmer was "working through something". When asked if the fourth-year wideout was hurt during practice, Harbaugh refused to give details.

Palmer dealt with knee rehab, conditioning and slight tweaks of his knee throughout the offseason. He had a lengthy IR stint related to an injury of the same knee during the 2023 season.

Chargers' WR room takes a hit with Joshua Palmer injury

The Chargers are already thin at the wide receiver position with DJ Chark Jr (hip) on IR. If Palmer is out, the Chargers would still have five wideouts left on the roster for Sunday. Palmer's injury could clear the path for rookie WR Brenden Rice to make his NFL debut. Rice was inactive against the Raiders as the Chargers opted to go with just five wideouts on the gameday roster.

Palmer's PFF offensive grade of 46.7 against the Raiders was the worst of his career. It doesn't feel like he's completely past last year's knee injury as he tries to get up to speed early this season. It's the latest knee setback for Palmer in a recovery process that doesn't seem to be close to its conclusion yet.

Elsewhere on the roster, the Chargers wait to see whether Bosa will give it a go on Sunday after having a back injury flare up. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday but registered two DNPs to close the week.

Los Angeles could opt to give Bosa some rest before playing Pittsburgh and Kansas City in back-to-back weeks prior to the BYE. Another option would be a snap/down count for their star edge rusher.

Ja'Sir Taylor took a positive step on Friday as he was a limited participant in practice after not being able to go on Wednesday or Thursday. With the secondary facing a now strong likelihood of Gilman's absence vs. Carolina, it's important that Taylor is able to give it a go from a depth perspective.

Hassan Haskins played over Kimani Vidal as the team's third running back last week, primarily contributing on special teams. He played 19 snaps on Ryan Ficken's ST unit vs. the Raiders. If he can't give it a go on Sunday, the aforementioned Vidal could make his rookie debut.
