In the seventh round of this Chargers mock draft, the Bolts select:

232nd: Zonovan Knight, RB, NC State

Fans might be sick of the Chargers taking a running back late in the draft after it has failed the last two years with Joshua Kelley and Larry Rountree. However, as the old saying goes, third time's the charm and the Bolts can try that with Zonovan Knight.

The Chargers have four compensatory picks in the 2022 NFL Draft so they might as well take another stab at running back in the seventh round. Knight is a shifty, athletic back who put up a 1,000-yard season for NC State in 2021.

251st: Zakoby McClain, LB, Auburn

This part of the draft is all about landing players that can make an impact in special teams and that is what the Chargers aim to do with Zakoby McClain. While McClain lacks some of the athleticism that a team might look for in a special teams player, he showcased great football IQ in college that should translate into positive special teams play.

252nd: Leon O'Neal, S, Texas A&M

Once again, the Chargers are looking for special teams value and get that in the hard-hitting, sure tackling Leon O'Neal.

254th: Jaquarii Roberson, WR, Wake Forest

This is a flier pick on an athletic wide receiver in the seventh round with the hope of refining his game and turning him into something in the future. Joe Reed and especially K.J. Hill do not have guaranteed futures with the Chargers so it would not be a bad thing to draft a younger receiver to try and mold something out of.

Roberson is a former basketball player who has a great vertical and put up some big numbers for Wake Forest that should not be completely ignored. He hauled in 71 catches for 1,078 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games.
