The LA Chargers have dealt with more injuries than any other team in the league and it has had a direct impact on the team's overall performance and record. Injuries, mixed with some questionable coaching, have turned an exciting season into a disappointing one.

Despite all of the injuries that the team racked up, one name that stayed healthy throughout was star safety, Derwin James. James had a brief one-day stint on the injury report before Week 13 but it was nothing to lose sleep over.

After 12 games of leading this defense and being the best player on that side of the ball, James has hit the injury report. The Chargers had a walkthrough on Wednesday and James' participation was estimated as limited. He was officially added to the injury report with a quad injury and is considered day-to-day.

Hopefully it does not turn into anything serious as the Chargers already have a really hard path to making the playoffs this season. Without James, that path likely does not exist as this defense is simply too bad. They already struggle with him, imagine without him.

Several other Chargers are up in the air after Wednesday's injury report.

Despite being halfway through the week, fans do not have a clear idea of who is going to play and who isn't going to play against the Miami Dolphins. The likes of James and Sebastian Joseph-Day are day-to-day while someone like Corey Linsley could come out of concussion protocol and potentially play.

It did not appear that Trey Pipkins is going to play in this game with him likely missing practice on Thursday as well. That being said, there are other reinforcements that the Bolts could be getting back for Week 14. Mike Williams was projected as a limited participant and Donald Parham is supposed to come back to practice this week. Getting both back on offense would be huge.

The Dolphins' injury situation is up in the air as well. Star receiver Jaylen Waddle and starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa were both limited with their respective injuries on Wednesday. If neither plays, that entirely changes the complexion of this game for the LA Chargers.

Regardless of who suits up for either side on Sunday, this is a must-win for the Chargers as a loss would essentially put a nail in the season's coffin. Whoever it is, they have to play at their absolute highest level.
