3 Chargers with skyrocketing stock after week 2 of training camp
By Jason Reed
The most important takeaways that fans can make during training camp is on the individual level. Every NFL team should look good in practice as a whole but it is the individual battles that are important to watch. There have been plenty of those during LA Chargers training camp in 2023.
Some players make the most of training camp and prove their worth while others fall down the depth chart and fall behind. There are often surprises both ways; players who rise against expectations and those who fall even though they seemed like a sure thing.
A lot has happened for the Chargers in the first two weeks of training camp with the second week bringing more clarity around which players are rising to the challenge.
3 Chargers with skyrocketing stock after week 2 of training camp:
1. Kenneth Murray
Believe it or not, Kenneth Murray has been one of the biggest standouts of Chargers training camp thus far. Murray has been nothing but disappointing in his first three years in the league and it looks like the fourth-year linebacker may finally be able to play like a first-round pick.
Murray has been getting immense praise from his teammates during camp and his performance in the team drills has spoken for itself. Nothing is guaranteed until the Chargers put the pads on against another NFL team but things are looking really promising for Murray.
If Murray can turn the ship around and have a breakout season in 2023 it would be the third year in a row that the Chargers enjoyed such a breakout with a player in a contract year. History does tend to repeat itself, so perhaps fan can pencil in a strong season for Murray in 2023.
