Jesse Minter is not coming alone as he is bringing several defensive line coaches who are going to work in unison to strengthen the Chargers' play in the trenches moving forward. That is a staple of Jim Harbaugh's brand of football and will be at the root of the team's success.

There are some questions at interior defensive line with several young players that need to take a step up in 2024. The Chargers will likely address the position in some capacity but it will mostly be up to those on the roster to dominate at the line of scrimmage. Thankfully, those inside are getting a lot of help from the great edge rushers on the roster.

When healthy, Joey Bosa is still one of the best edge rushers in the sport and he is going to continue wrecking games for the Chargers when he is out there. Opposite of Bosa on the other side of the line will be Tuli Tuipulotu, who is likely entering his first season as a full-time starter.

It has not happened yet, but all signs are pointing toward the team getting rid of Khalil Mack for salary-cap purposes this offseason. That is a hard decision to make but it is made easier by having someone like Tuipulotu ready to step up for a bigger role.

Tuipulotu had a very impressive rookie season that is only going to get built off of with Minter in town. Minter specializes in unique pressure packages and designed blitzes that will put Tuipulotu in positions to win often. Tuipulotu can already win a traditional one-on-one rep and once the Chargers start getting creative with it then other teams will suffer.

The 2023 second-round pick was already destined for a jump in his sophomore season after such a strong rookie year. With Minter now in town, that jump will be even larger.
