The 3-1 LA Chargers host the 3-1 Cleveland Browns in Week 5 in what is a huge prove-it game for the Chargers. The Bolts have already proven a lot in the last two weeks and if they can defeat the Browns then people might start talking about them being a Super Bowl contender.

The Browns are not an easy out as they have a really talented roster that certainly has its areas of advantage over the Bolts; with the Bolts also having advantages over the Browns.

Every NFL fan is looking at the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills as the game of the week. This very well could end up bring the actual game of the week, though, and one that you can make money on.

Chargers injury report vs. Browns Week 5

Outside of the players that are already on the Injured Reserve — Kenneth Murray, Justin Jones and Bryan Bulaga — the Chargers do not have many injury designations for Week 5. Chris Harris Jr. has been listed as questionable, although his return is likely and Justin Jackson has been ruled doubtful. Joshua Kelley will take his place if he does not play.

The Browns, meanwhile, have nine players listed as questionable and three that have been ruled out. Baker Mayfield is also dealing with a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Chargers vs. Browns odds, spread, over/under and betting pick Week 5

According to WynnBET, the LA Chargers are 2.5-point favorites at home against the Browns. The Chargers opened the week as only one-point favorites, so the action appears to be on the Bolts. LA is a -140 moneyline favorite and the over/under has been set at 47 points.

If both teams are fully healthy this is a coin flip and one that I definitely would not put my actual money on. I would give my pick but also advise to stay far away and bet on another game on WynnBEt as anything could happen.

However, with all of the injury designations for the Browns, with Mayfield's bad shoulder and with both the starting and backup left tackle listed as out, Chargers -2.5 feels like a safe bet. It definitely is one that I would put my money on.

As long as the Chargers take care of business and do what they have been doing thus far then they should be able to take down a beaten-up Browns team at home by three or more points. I am going with Chargers -2.5 and over 47 points. The final score will be Chargers 27, Browns 21.

Chargers next game and schedule

The LA Chargers head on the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. That ends the really tough start of the schedule for the Bolts and if they can be 5-1 after that start then it would be a massive win and put them in a great position to win the AFC West.

Week 7 is the Chargers bye, which is not ideal, but is followed by a fairly easy second-half of the schedule. It is not absurd to think that the Chargers could win 13 games, minimum, if they start the season with a 5-1 record with the opponents they have had to face.
