4 most exciting matchups for the LA Chargers in Week 1

This might be one of the more under-the-radar exciting matchups on the Chargers' schedule this year, but how the Falcons conducted their draft and similarly complete front office overhaul make it all the more enticing.

Other than both teams having new head coaches, the Falcons also signed Kirk Cousins to a ridiculous deal this offseason to make him their starting quarterback. The longtime Viking is coming off a season that abruptly ended due to an Achilles injury, and despite his arrival, rookie Michael Penix Jr. will be waiting in the wings after being drafted in the first round.

Those storylines will be inevitably interesting, but the matchup between the teams will really put it over the top.

The Chargers' strengths of their offense, which is expected to primarily be on the ground, will be a real test for the Falcons' defense, which was not good against the run in 2023. On the other side, Atlanta has put together an impressive offensive roster led by Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson.
