2. WR Josh Palmer

A Chargers fan favorite, Josh Palmer has been a serviceable outlet for Justin Herbert since he was signed in 2021 as a priority free agent. He's also performed admirably as a secondary option whenever Keenan Allen and Mike Williams missed time.

A nagging knee injury limited Palmer to 10 games last season, but he made his presence felt whenever he was out there. He averaged a career-high with 15.4 yards per catch, which ranked 15th among all receivers, and added a respectable 5.0 yards after the catch per reception, per PFF.

Perhaps the most notable Palmer stat is that Herbert posted a 99.6 paser rating when targeting Palmer. Their chemistry has been on point since Palmer joined the Bolts. In 2021, Herbert had a 107.0 passer rating when throwing to Palmer and a 97.9 passer rating when throwing his way in 2022.

Even if the Chargers draft a WR with the fifth pick, extending Palmer, a free agent after next season, would be smart business given his rapport with Herbert and the state of the WR room. With Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack potentially coming off the books in 2025, LA can afford to keep Palmer.
