The base salary for all first-year undrafted free agents is $840,000. But the vast majority of UDFAs don't get that money as a result of not making an NFL roster. What they do secure, however, is the fully guaranteed portion of their initial contract. That figure can also reveal which undrafted free agents were the Los Angeles Chargers' highest priorities after the 2025 NFL Draft.

From highest to lowest guarantees, here's how the Chargers' UDFA class stacks up on OverTheCap:

  • $60k: RB Raheim Sanders
  • $40k: CB Nikko Reed
  • $20k: CB Eric Rogers, EDGE Garmon Randolph
  • $15k: LT Corey Stewart, LG Nash Jones
  • $10k: DT Josh Fuga, CB Jordan Oladokun, CB Myles Purchase, DT TeRah Edwards
  • $5k: WR Luke Grimm, TE/FB Stevo Klotz, EDGE Kylan Guidry, S Jaylen Jones
  • $3k: LB Marlowe Wax, C Josh Kaltenberger, QB DJ Uigalelei
  • $2k: WR Dalevon Campbell
  • $0: RT Savion Washington

Breaking down Chargers' UDFA guarantees in 2025

Sanders leading the pack in fully guaranteed money should come as no surprise. He was the highest-ranked player of Los Angeles's undrafted free agents class on most big boards and consensus rankings. Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz have both raved about him in the team's draft process. It's still early, but he has to be thought of as the undrafted free agent with the best chance to make the team's 53-man roster.

Another notable aspect is the Chargers' aggressiveness in signing undrafted free agent corners. Cornerbacks Reed, Rogers, Oladokun, and Purchase all received $10,000 or more in guaranteed money. The Chargers kept multiple corners on their initial practice squad last season. That same opportunity could be there for each of the four undrafted free agent corners this offseason.

Campbell was not part of the team's initial undrafted free agent class, but signed on after winning a roster spot at LA's rookie minicamp tryouts.

For now, the momentum continues for Raheim "Rocket" Sanders as a result of having signed for the highest of the Chargers' undrafted free agent guarantees. Outside of Sanders, the team invested a lot of their undrafted free agent pool money on defense at cornerback and defensive tackle.
