The biggest story from the LA Chargers' Week 6 win over the Denver Broncos was Jim Harbaugh exiting the sideline for a period of time with what was later revealed to be an atrial flutter.

Harbaugh explained what happened on the sideline after the game and outlined how he dealt with a similar incident as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. After meeting with a cardiologist, Harbaugh confirmed he will wear a heart monitor for two weeks before another evaluation.

This is obviously a massive story that reporters and fans alike will monitor in the coming weeks. On Wednesday, Harbaugh provided an update on his heart in a way that only he could, helping relieve a lot of the tension in the room around whether or not it would be more serious.

Jim Harbaugh gives an update on his heart in a way that only he could.

There is no denying that Harbaugh is an interesting character and if there ever was going to be a head coach who would have a response like this to what seems like a serious situation, it is Harbaugh.

Harbaugh previously said that his heart would have to stop beating for him not to be on the Chargers' sideline moving forward, so it is clear he is not viewing this as a hindrance in any way. In fact, his light-hearted response to the situation brings the levity Chargers fans need.

At the end of the day, coaching a football game is not worth it if it is going to have any kind of impact on Harbaugh's health. If the veteran head coach had to step away from games for several weeks every fan would have understood and would have supported the decision.

Thankfully, it does not appear the situation is indicative of Harbaugh needing to do that. However, if it ever does reach that point, the hope is that Harbaugh would step aside and rightfully take a break from coaching while he recovered.

This will continue to be a storyline for Chargers fans to monitor as the 2024 season goes along and Harbaugh will certainly have more updates as he receives them from his doctors.

Hopefully, those updates continue to be of the positive variety not for the team's sake, but for Harbaugh's sake.
