The LA Chargers had the top scoring defense in the NFL heading into a high-powered Week 15 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Defensive coordinator Jesse Minter has gotten the absolute most out of his players whether it be rookies or long-time veterans.

The rookie cornerback tandem of Tarheeb Still and Cam Hart has been the brightest spot of the defense this season. Both players have excelled, with Still hauling in his fourth interception of the season in the first half against the Bucs.

Hart nearly had a chance to haul in his first-career interception two drives later when a Baker Mayfield deep shot hit him right in the hands. The fifth-round pick was unable to hold on to the interception, hitting the turf hard on his way down with the ball.

Unfortunately, Hart suffered a concussion on the interception attempt after his helmet whipped into the ground. This is the second concussion this season for Hart, who had a scary moment on the field after the injury.

It didn't take long for the Chargers to rule Hart out for the rest of the game with a concussion. Hart suffered his first concussion of the season in Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals, making this his second concussion in just a month's time.

Player safety is and should be at the center of every decision teams make throughout the season. With two concussions in a short time frame, the Chargers must prioritize Hart's long-term health, which could result in his rookie season being over.

Hart will certainly miss more time with this concussion and the Chargers simply should not risk a third concussion in such a short timeframe.

Safety Elijah Molden was also shaken up on the play, forcing the Chargers to turn to two backups in the secondary on the Bucs' final play of the first half. Veteran Tony Jefferson came in at safety while Ja'Sir Taylor re-entered the game at cornerback.

Taylor was on the field for Tampa Bay's first drive of the game and was thoroughly picked on by Mayfield. The former fifth-round pick had a lapse in coverage on a pick route that resulted in a long touchdown for Jalen McMillan.

Molden's injury did not appear to be as serious, so it would not be all that surprising to see him return in the Chargers' first defensive drive of the second half.
