Chargers' early Super Bowl 61 odds are better than anyone could have expected

The Bolts have been given better odds to win Super Bowl 61 than all but three AFC teams.

The 2025 NFL season officially concluded on Sunday night, as the Seattle Seahawks secured the Lombardi Trophy for the second time in franchise history with an emphatic 29-13 victory in Super Bowl 60 over the New England Patriots.

The Los Angeles Chargers' 2025 campaign, of course, came to an end close to a month ago in a disheartening defeat to the Pats in the Wild Card Round.

And their 2026 offseason has already been quite eventful, as former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has been brought in to replace the fired Greg Roman at offensive coordinator, while former safeties coach Chris O'Leary is back with the Bolts after a one-year absence, this time at defensive coordinator after Jesse Minter left Los Angeles to become the new head coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

With the coordinators in place, the full focus now becomes the roster, which could look a lot different in the near future, as the Chargers have nearly 30 players set to enter some sort of free agency, including several starters on both sides of the football, which naturally means they have an ample amount of salary cap space with which to work heading into the new League Year, which officially begins March 11.

So, there's certainly plenty of work to be done in regard to player personnel. But NFL oddsmakers seem extremely confident about the Bolts' ability to navigate their way through this offseason, as only three AFC teams have been given better odds to win Super Bowl 61.

The Chargers are tied for the fourth-best Super Bowl 61 odds among AFC teams

Unsurprisingly, the Seahawks sit atop the way-too-early Super Bowl 61 betting odds at +950, but the newly-crowned champions do have some company, as the Los Angeles Rams, whom Seattle defeated in the NFC title game, have the same +950 odds, with both also sharing the same +500 odds to represent the NFC next February at SoFi Stadium.

The first AFC team on the list, however, is not the Patriots, as the Buffalo Bills are the favorites at +1100, with New England and Minter's Ravens just behind at +1300.

And not far below sit the Chargers, who are tied for the ninth-best odds overall and the fourth-best among AFC teams at +1500 alongside none other than the Kansas City Chiefs, with both also getting +750 odds to win the conference.

That certainly can't sit well with the Denver Broncos, who won the AFC West and reached the conference title game but sit behind both Los Angeles and Kansas City at +1800 to win the Super Bowl and +900 to make it to SoFi.

While we didn't include the divisional numbers in the table below, the Bolts did get a slight edge in the AFC West odds at +170, while the Chiefs are right behind at +175. The Broncos, meanwhile, sit at +215, while the Las Vegas Raiders bring up the rear at +2500.

These numbers will naturally fluctuate several times over the next seven months, but for now, here's a look at the early Super Bowl 61 odds.
