1. The LA Chargers have a viable option to spend on in Julio Jones

It would be one thing if there was absolutely nothing to spend on. At that point, it would make more sense to save the cap space instead of signing players that do not help the cause at all. The Chargers could, however, use that cap to fill out depth in positions that need it most.

Regardless, there is a really exciting move that the team can make and it is one of few teams that can actually make the move because of its cap-space situation. That move is trading for Julio Jones.

We have already broken down why trading for Jones is a no-brainer and adding Jones to this roster would be so much more impactful than saving more money for the cap next season. While Jones may not longer be in his prime, he is still one of the best receivers in the league and would give Justin Herbert one of the best weapon groups in the league.

Jones very obviously wants out of Atlanta and the Falcons are losing leverage in the situation every single day. The Chargers are one of few teams that can logistically do it and they make the most sense from a team standpoint as well.

Jones is going to want a solid quarterback and is going to want to win. He would get both of those things in LA, especially if he joins the fold.

There are more reasons why it is better for the Chargers to spend now.
