Any Given Sunday – This could easily have been billed as the best against the worst, especially when looking at statistics, but the game did not really reflect that. The Raiders came ready to play and they fielded an offense that did not match their ‘last in the league’ statistics. Carr was great and would have had better stats if his receivers had not dropped so many. The Raider O-Line played great. We need to keep in mind that the ‘bad’ teams in the NFL are still fielding teams full of professional talented football players and any given Sunday David can beat Goliath.
The difference between good and great teams is… great teams win the games on the road that they should.
Road Games are Tough – Even when it is just a short trip to the north. Playing away from the home crowd is tough. Home field advantage is alive and well. The difference between good and great teams is… great teams win the games on the road that they should.
PR is Playing Awesome Football – Sure his streak of games with 70+ completion percentage was broken, but it was still a great day for him. 22/34, 313 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 123.8 passer rating. 5th straight game with a passer rating over 120. He should be up for the FedEx Air Player of the week.

Oliver is For Real – He looked like LT jumping over that pile for the TD. 101 rushing yards, 1 TD, 4 catches for 23 yards. And he put the team on his back on that last drive. The dude has a nose for the endzone. I remember another guy who played in SD that always had a nose for the endzone… hmmmm. Oliver should be up for another Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award.
Pink Floyd – I guess we can stop wondering if Malcom will fully recover from his neck injury. Great game for him.
Swagger – This team has a different look this year. Last year they had trouble on the road. They had games where it looked like they didn’t show up to play (Raiders, Miami). And games that they could not squeeze a victory out in crunch time (Washington, Houston). This team is playing with a confidence to win those games this year. There was no panic being down to the Raiders in the 4th, they went out and took care of business. They scored when they needed to and the defense got stops when it needed to.
In TT We Trust – Branden Oliver, UDFA. Jason Verrett for the win. Nuff said.
