…and here we go! The San Diego Chargers will be traveling out to Cincinnati to face the Bengals in the PLAYOFFS. Every little thing counts in this game and every little mistake will be magnified. Both teams met up earlier in the season and the Chargers did not look sharp in the game. Antonio Gates had a pair of fumbles in the game in enemy territory and the Bengals took advantage of the Chargers weak run defense.

The Chargers have made some changes since that game that have helped on the defensive side of the football. Having a pair of physical outside linebackers should help on defense. Both Jarret Johnson and Melvin Ingram were not available in the first meeting and will be ready to hit some people on Sunday.

The Bengals will hope that the good Andy Dalton shows up on Sunday. You never know which one will show up in the game – the turnover machine or the touchdown monster. They do know that their tough defense will be ready to hit.

Philip Rivers and the offense will need to find a way to move the football down the field and they will need to protect the football. That will be a huge key for the offense in the game.

Prediction:

Dec 29, 2013; San Diego, CA, USA; San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead (39) carries the ball in overtime during the Chargers 27-24 overtime win over the Kansas City Chiefs at Qualcomm Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Stan Liu-USA TODAY Sports

The Chargers are hungry and everyone says that we shouldn’t even be in this game. We shouldn’t even be in the playoffs. We are here and we are ready to make some noise. The team has had luck on it’s side and we have been playing well also. Down the stretch, we have beaten some really good teams.

I expect the offense to move the football with Ryan Mathews on offense and there will be some big plays from Keenan Allen and Antonio Gates. The big guys on the offense have to play well.

The defense will have some struggles at times, but I expect bad Andy Dalton to make an appearance and the Chargers defense will come up with some turnovers.
