The San Diego Chargers are back on Monday Night and they will be facing off against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts just knocked off the Seattle Seahawks and will be looking for their 4th straight victory. This will be the debut for Andrew Luck on Monday Night Football. Hopefully the Chargers will be able to spoil his debut.

Colts Player to Watch: Andrew Luck

If you have not seen the commercials for Monday Night Football, you might not know that anybody else is playing in this game. They are promoting the crap out of Andrew Luck and this being his first appearance on Monday Night Football. He has led his Colts to a 4-1 record already and they have been rolling. He led them to a victory over the Seattle Seahawks by throwing for 229 yards and two touchdowns. He will be the player to watch.

Chargers Player to Watch: Philip Rivers

With all the hype in the direction of Andrew Luck for this game, Philip RIvers cannot be overlooked. Despite 3 interceptions last weekemd, Philip Rivers is on a monster pace. He has thrown for over 400 yards in the last two contests and he has had the Chargers offense producing. Last weekend he tossed for 411 yards and a couple of scores. He keeps his team competitive and will put them on the scoreboard.

Matchup to Watch: Robert Mathis vs Chargers Tackles

Robert Mathis is leading the league in sacks and will be going up against the rookie D.J. Fluker a lot of the time. Fluker has had trouble with the speed rush in the past and will have to deal with one of the bests. Maybe if he choke slams Mathis, that will get him to slow down that rush a little bit. Philip Rivers has also done a great job of getting rid of the ball quickly. If Philip has to hold onto the football for an extended period, Mathis will be right there for the hit.

Prediction:

I am going with my heart on this one. I can’t pick against my team just yet. I don’t think the Chargers are Super Bowl contenders, but  also don’t think that they are the worst team in the league either. They have the weapons to compete on offense and move the football. It will be up to the defense to slow down Trent Richardson, Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton. I think that this game will be competitive and will come down to the very last tick.
