Chargers 2013 Season Bold Predictions ~ Games 5 to 9

Here we are again.  Last week I predicted that the Chargers would be going into week 5 at 4-0.  If you did not see that post,  you may want to go back to read my thoughts and the comments of your fellow BoltBeat faithful before you get too excited.  If you were in the mix last week and are back for more fun, thank you and I hope you are enjoying the ride.  Now, let’s head into week 5 with the kind of excitement we should be having as an undefeated team after four games!  Woo Hoo!

Week 5 – Sunday, October 6th @ 1:25PM vs. Raiders – Away game.  Well, we all know how this is going to turn out.  Charges will win by at least 3 touchdowns and the Raiders will have over 100 yards in penalties.  Record 5-0

Week 6 – Monday, October 14th @ 5:40PM vs. Colts – Home game.  Well, as I previously stated, the Chargers are not going to lose a home game this season and we are NOT going to be doing so on Monday Night Football.  So, while the Colts are going to come in and do some fancy passing there will be at least three interceptions by the Chargers and possibly more than one for a pick six.  That’s Luck!  ;-)  Chargers will win this one with the help of points scored by the defense.  I am also taking my daughter to this game and it’s her 11th birthday.  The Bolts will not let her down.  Record 6-0

Week 7 – Sunday, October 20th @ 10:00AM vs. Jaguars – Away game.  Oh no, is this the week the Chargers put a number besides 0 in the loss column?  Possibly.  Away, early, East Coast again, coming off a huge game and a short week.  I suspect that the injuries and travel are going to catch up with our guys a week too soon and they will fall to the Jags by a small margin.  Record 6-1

Week 8 – Bye Week ~ Rest, learn, heal and adjust.

Week 9 – Sunday, November 3rd @ 10:00AM vs. Redskins – Away game.  Really?  Early East Coast game again?  Who did we make mad?  Fortunately, for the Chargers they will be coming off a bye week and will be nice and rested and healed up before heading to face the Redskins.  If RG3 is not injured he will be tossing the ball to at least one Charger for a TD.  While this game will be close and exciting as heck, the Chargers will win this game.  Record 7-1

At this point in the season the football analysts will be slobbering all over the AFC West.  I suspect the Bronco’s will be in peak form and for the first time in a long time the West will be the division to beat.  Well, not the Chiefs or the Raiders, but you get my point.  The Chargers will face the Broncos next week in a game everyone will be watching.  This is going to be good!  See you next Monday.  :-)

we handle everybody but the JAGUARS??? really??? i give this a 0% chance of happening.

  • Pels04

The Jaguars would be the one team i would feel most confident about beating on the entire schedule…..

    • ChargerGirl Cindi

That’s what makes me think we might not. Perhaps I am still suffering from Turner syndrome?

      • Pels04

Ha you beat me to it! What i hated most about Norv was playing down to the level of inferior teams. I expect better from McCoy!

        • Peter Thompson

Cough cough Panthers, after decimating the Steelers at Pittsburgh.

    • davacho

      could not agree more

  • Alter Ego

Marry me Chargergirl – just reading your opinion gets me hot and bothered.

    • ChargerGirl Cindi

Even if I was not a happily married ChargerGirl I would still say no to scary clown! LOL

      • Alter Ego

It’s okay – I’m not for everyone. Stay loyal.

  • exact

i like the predictions but that was just games 5-8!

    • ChargerGirl Cindi

I’m doing 4 week chunks. Last week was 1-4.

  • Ioane

I think we handle the Jags and fall to the redskins. We have always been able to stomp the Jags no matter how good or bad we are.

    • ChargerGirl Cindi

Quite possibly. This is not rocket science, it’s all in my gut. And as you guys all know quite well, I am the biggest believer ever.

  • 1961 Fan

Last season one of your co writers on Bolt Beat was Joey Nicks, before the season started he predicted a 13-3 season. I thought he was delusional, and he was! You have surpassed his delusional report by saying the Bolts will be 7-1 after week nine. Any reasonable person that can assess the Chargers talent this season knows the problems the Chargers face. More than anyone else I want my Chargers to be successful, however we do not have a solid team this season. Factor a new play book with new coaches and Rivers stumbling the last two years, you must “get real” and be completely candid, this is not the Chargers year.

    • Pels04

I think im somewhere in between you and Cindi. Do i expect them to win the Superbowl? No. Do i expect an improvement from last year. Absolutely. Do i expect them to make the playoffs? Im hopeful!

  • Victor Rios

Seriously? A loss to the Jags? Nah I disagree…I think they’ll be 8-0 in the first half of the season.

    • ChargerGirl Cindi

I like your thinking! I will happily be wrong.

      • Gunnar Martin

But you’ll probably be wrong in a different way than you think…

        Just sayin.

  • FitzWilly

    I love your enthusiasm CGC

Makes me wanna get up and dance :)

    • Peter Thompson

      Dang Fitzy!

      • FitzWilly

The Misses is a HUGE Bolt fan too ;)
it only took 6 beers to get it right lol
        what a Trooper

  • Josh Leon

I know that it may just be too optimistic. but theres something in the San Diego air that tells me there is good things to come this season.
