The San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders were sitting at a BYE week this Sunday and had to look on and root for the hated Denver Broncos against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Denver Broncos did not disappoint this weekend. They manhandled the Chiefs and brought them a game closer to us! The Chiefs were sitting pretty in first place since week 1 of the NFL season and now the loss this weekend brought them into a first place tie with the Oakland Raiders. The San Diego Chargers are breathing right down their necks sitting a game behind. Even the Denver Broncos have sparked a little hope with the win over KC and are only 2 games out of the lead, but they do have a long hill to climb before they can start looking for a playoff berth.

The door has blown wide open for the Chargers to take over this division. The Chargers had some huge wins against Tennessee and Houston to put themselves in position for this playoff run and have had to rely on this collapse from Kansas City. The Chiefs have now lost 2 straight games against 2 division opponents with losses to the Oakland Raiders and the Denver Broncos. The Chargers still have 2 games against the Broncos and a game each against the Raiders and the Chiefs. The Chargers will have to win all those division games in order to start thinking about the playoffs.

UPCOMING MATCHUPS:

The Oakland Raiders are already 3-0 within the division and hold a victory against us They are riding a 3 game winning streak, BUT they have the toughest part of their schedule coming up and they still have to come into our house. This weekend they will have to travel into Pittsburgh and play against an angry Pittsburgh Steelers team. The Raiders will be prepared having a couple of weeks to prepare for them, BUT I would have to put my money on the Steelers.

The Kansas City Chiefs look like they are falling apart after that debacle against the Broncos. Welcome to REALITY!! There is no telling how far they have actually have fallen… They have a home game against the Arizona Cardinals this weekend and we will see if they are able to rebound from their poor showing against Denver.

Then comes our game!! The Chargers will have a division game at home on Monday night against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos will be riding off the momentum from last week, BUT the Chargers will have had 2 weeks to prepare for them. Division games are always tough, but the Chargers do not have any room for error. A win for the Chargers will move them back into .500 and who knows what will happen with the other teams in our division.

Our team is getting healthy and we are ready to make this CHARGE!!! LETS GET IT!! I like our chances of taking this thing!
