This offense looked fantastic, and it still didn’t have LT. Not only did it not have LT, LT’s backup, Michael Turner went down early and forced Darren Sproles to get more carries than expected. The Chargers offense rolled up 506 net yards on offense, which is among the best in the league this week. The offense also controlled the game, winning Time of Possession 37:55 to 22:05
What is unsettling is that the pass D still looks shakey, as it too saw plenty of passes completed. Leinart, Warner and Boyd went 20-30 for 311 yards, 2 TD and 0 INT.

Chargers Cuts
Chargers released cornerback Quinton Jones, safety Miguel Merrick, linebacker Zach Latimer, tackle Mike Jones, guard Jeremy Sheffey, quarterback Brett Elliott, tight end T.J. Cottrell and wide receivers Rhema McKnight, Rich Musinski and Sonny Shackelford; placed running back Tyronne Gross on injured reserve. T.J. Cottrell is the son of Coach Ted Cottrell. Man, it must be tough having to go tell your son he wasn’t good enough to make the team. The Chargers will still need to cut one more player by Tuesday.
The Season Starts in 2 Weeks
Are you ready?
Here is a checklist to see if you’re ready for this season, and some possible solutions to any “no” responses.
Have you listened to the hundreds of hours of fantasy football preview advice on ESPN, SI, FSN, Comcast or whoever your sports outlet might be?
If you’ve answered no, consider yourself lucky. for some reason, this season I’ve found myself duped into watching/reading/listening to “experts” talk about how to draft. These people are experts in strategy and that’s about it. They don’t know any more than the chick at your office who won last year’s fantasy league because she drafted [...]
The Pewter Plank
Down in Tampa Bay, John Gruden is getting the Bucs ready for ‘07. If he can’t get it going, he might be walking the plank come January.

Tuesday Hills Report
Since the Chargers don’t play on Monday night any time soon, I’m going to take Tuesdays to give my take on MTV’s “The Hills”.
Yes, I watch it.
My girlfriend has to watch it, thus I have to watch it. The show’s not that bad, really. It’s incredibly moronic, much like most of entertainment these days.
So, if you watch it, keep reading. If you watch something else at 10 pm on monday nights on the west coast, let me know what you’re watching.
Remember, this is a straight male’s impressions of the show.
LC: the show’s protagonist, at one point was lovable for a [...]
Macro:
Not that the Chargers necessarily needed to “rebound” from a preseason loss, but they definitely had reason to show character in St. Louis Saturday night.
The Bolts had to justify being on a nationally televised game the second week in a row, not to mention the large amount of preseason hype they’ve received.
Most pundits have given them the division crown, and all but an invite to the AFC championship game; teams on that hype level aren’t supposed to lose preaseason home openers, let alone the first two preseason games of a season.
Yes, I know the preseason is meaningless. Most Super Bowl [...]

Madden ‘08–WHO CARES!
Madden ‘08 is out? Oh, I had no idea. I just finished another season on my NEStopia emulator.
What, you may ask, is a NEStopia emulator?
Oh, just some software that enables you to play NES games on your mac/pc!
This system, which is free, is the best way to get your football video game fix if you don’t have the cheddar to cough up for a PS3, or the dedication to “gaming”. Check out the numbers I put up with Jeremy Shockey at WR in a game against the Saints.
It takes a small amount of effort to figure out where to download [...]
Light Outs — for real
Several news outlets have reported that Shawne Merriman has, for the time being, shelved his “lights out” sack celebration dance.
In an aol.com publishing, Merriman was quoted as saying:
“Some people who have been around the game a long time say it’s immature, you shouldn’t do it. That’s their opinion. I’m Shawne Merriman. I’m going to act the way I act. But right now I feel like it’s important for me to help pull this thing together. Then I can go back to being myself.
“There’s nothing wrong with it. Would someone tell Jordan to put his tongue in going to the hoop? [...]
IS IT JUST ME, OR…
IS AARON RODGERS BETTER THAN BRETT FAVRE?
Don’t get me wrong, I love the legend of Brett Favre, but after watching the Steelers/Packers game, and Packers scrimmages and practices on NFL network, A-Rog looks better than good ole Brett!
