Ladd McConkey gave LA Chargers fans an injury scare on Wednesday when he randomly popped up as a DNP on the team's first injury report of Week 3. Thankfully, McConkey's inclusion was more of a jump scare than anything else.
McConkey was a full participant in Thursday's practice, making a quick recovery from his biceps injury. Barring an unforeseen setback, McConkey will certainly play in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.
Jim Harbaugh has made a habit out of giving veterans rest days early in the week. Perhaps this was a rest day dressed up by a very minor injury. Either way, the Bolts should have their best receiver for Sunday's game.
Ladd McConkey's full participation highlights Thursday's Chargers injury report
McConkey was one of several players who were upgraded to full participants after previously receiving injury designations. Cornerback Tarheeb Still went from limited on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday. Second-year defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe went from a DNP with a foot injury to a full participant.
Linebacker Daiyan Henley had his own progression, although he wasn't a full participant. Henley went from a DNP to a limited participant with an illness. Henley was a surprise addition to the Chargers injury report on Monday with the illness but he still suited up for his version of a flu game.
Henley's limited participation is not a surprise given the circumstances. He should be good to go on Sunday against Denver.
Cam Hart remained a limited participant for the second day in a row while both Will Dissly and Elijah Molden logged DNPs for the second day in a row. Molden missed Monday's game against the Raiders, forcing the Chargers to elevate veteran Tony Jefferson from the practice squad.
Jefferson excelled against the Raiders, even coming down with an interception near the goal line. Chargers fans shouldn't be worried if Molden needs another week to recover.
The headlines are rightfully about McConkey, though, as his status for Week 3 genuinely could have changed the outcome of what should be a close game. While nothing is concrete, Chargers fans can rest easy knowing McConkey will most likely play on Sunday.
