What a wild ride. In a game where many Los Angeles Chargers fans may have thought they'd seen this same old story before, the Bolts refused to let it slip.

In what ended up being an overtime victory for the Chargers, veteran safety Tony Jefferson came away with the game-sealing interception and L.A. beat the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Of course, making a play like that, Jefferson had reporters catch up to him right away after the win. And, in humble yet inspiring fashion, Jefferson had some high praise for his quarterback Justin Herbert.

"We'll ride or die for number 10. He's literally the strongest (willed) quarterback I've ever been around," Jefferson said on the live broadcast, just immediately following the game.

That pretty much sums up the toughness we regularly see out of Herbert, and it couldn't be more true than on a night like this one.

Justin Herbert once again proved his grittiness in the Chargers' MNF win over the Eagles

Jefferson was one of the must-have interviews after the win, again, thanks to his clutch interception that officially ended the Eagles' night. It was a heads-up play by Jefferson, too, who caught the ball off a tip by cornerback Cam Hart.

But, like the veteran defensive back mentioned, this game was all about number 10.

Herbert was coming off having a surgery on his fractured left hand; a surgery he had just days ago. But, in true Herbert fashion, he suited up and gutted this one out.

And that might have been putting it nicely.

Herbert wound up taking seven sacks, on the night, by the Philly defense. It was a rinse-and-repeat type of performance by the Chargers' offensive line, but of course, not in the positive sense. This was a movie we've seen far too many times before.

QB1 was hit often, yet he kept getting up. He kept fighting, and he even continued to use his legs. For those who may not have noticed, Herbert was the Chargers' leading rusher on the night with 66 yards on 10 carries. He took off regularly, moving the chains and extending drives in what was a hard-fought game.

It was hard-fought for many reasons, too, including a wild night which was full of turnovers. Herbert's seven sacks weren't the only road block in this one, but an interception and a lost fumble plagued him and the offense as well.

Still, to Herbert's credit, he was able to make more positive plays than not. And in the end, the Chargers' defense backed him up when it mattered most.
