The Los Angeles Chargers kicked off the season with an upset win against the Kansas City Chiefs. While it felt great to take down their AFC West foe and the conference's Goliath, there is simply no rest for the weary in the NFL.
Jim Harbaugh and his team will travel to Allegiant Stadium to take on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season. This primetime Monday Night Football contest is yet another divisional bout for the Chargers, and it is a spirited rivalry game.
Las Vegas looked better than expected on opening weekend, albeit against the New England Patriots. They did not look good enough, however, for Chargers fans to worry about this bit of history slipping through the team's fingers on Monday.
Chargers' Cameron Dicker poised to make NFL history against Raiders
Four-year veteran kicker Cameron Dicker has been an incredible asset for the Bolts since being signed in November of 2022. He is nearly automatic from all over the field, including a ridiculous 16-for-21 from 50 or more yards.
He is currently 93-for-99 on all field goals in his NFL career, and on Monday, Dicker has an easy chance at history. If he can just attempt a field goal against the Raiders, he will take on the No. 1 spot on the all-time field goal percentage list in the regular season.

Hit or miss, after his next FG attempt, he will take the #1 spot on the "official" all-time FG% leaderboard, which is regular season only and includes kickers with 100 attempts.
Barring an unforeseen injury or a set of bizarre circumstances, it seems like he will trot out for at least a single field goal attempt on Monday. He would pass Justin Tucker (89.1%), Harrison Butker (88.8%) and Chris Boswell (88.1%) for the crown with this attempt.

Dicker would have to miss his next six kicks in a row to fall below Tucker on this list. Given his track record, that does not seem likely, and it does not even affect the record that he will be chasing against Las Vegas.
Unless the Raiders simply give up a touchdown on every drive, Dicker is practically certain to rewrite the record books. Las Vegas' Pete Carroll and Patrick Graham pride themselves on being a "bend, don't break" defense, so one field goal attempt is more than likely.
Ideally, Dicker knocks one kick through, for the sake of the record, and he can spend the rest of the night hanging out and kicking PATs.
