Led by general manager Joe Hortiz, the LA Chargers front office has quickly established itself as one of the best in the NFL. As such, teams with less stable situations throughout the league could look to poach from what the Chargers quickly built.

Just ask assistant GM Chad Alexander, who has become one of the hottest executive names in league circles. Alexander has interviewed for multiple openings the last two years, leading many fans to believe that he will inevitably leave the organization this offseason.

Alexander hasn't left yet, but a new opening has just shockingly emerged that may entice him. The Minnesota Vikings fired GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah on Friday in a move that nobody saw coming. Minnesota now finds itself in the GM market, and Alexander should be near the top of their list.

At this point, there is no reported interview scheduled between Alexander and the Vikings, nor are there any direct ties between the two parties. However, given his successful background, that does not change the fact that AlexandWhatever er should be a candidate the Vikings pursue.

Alexander's short-lived tenure in the Chargers' front office isn't the only feather in his cap. Prior to that, Alexander spent two decades in various roles in the Chargers' front office. Sandwiched between these two roles was a brief stint with the New York Jets, which he got out of at the perfect time.

Hortiz wasted little time bringing Alexander with him when he got the Chargers job. And once Alexander inevitably leaves, whether it be to the Vikings or elsewhere, he will bring the decades of valuable experience that a franchise like the Vikings should covet.

Alexander's work alongside the two Harbaugh brothers is also an important wrinkle that may intrigue the Vikings. Back in 2022, the Vikings reached out to Jim Harbaugh and even interviewed him for the team's head coaching vacancy before hiring Kevin O'Connell. It's clear that Minnesota ownership values the Harbaugh culture, which only helps Alexander's case.

Whatever direction the Vikings take, the team needs to move quickly. Free agency is right around the corner and the Vikings are entering an important NFL Draft that may serve as a fork in the road moment for the franchise.

If the organization is smart, it will strongly consider Alexander to be the pilot that steers the ship moving forward. And if not, the Chargers at least get the benefit of keeping Alexander around.
