The LA Chargers have not had the same headline-grabbing offseason that the team had a year ago when it brought in multiple big-name players. That being said, it has still been a quality offseason for the Bolts.

Tom Telesco was able to create cap space with several restructures and brought back (or replaced) key free agents this spring. With the 2023 NFL Draft looming, the Chargers roster is in a place where it does not have any noticeable holes.

The team will instead be drafting for depth in 2023. While the early picks in the draft will still make an impact in year one, there are not many guaranteed starting jobs on the Chargers as it stands today.

Chargers depth chart heading into the 2023 NFL Draft:

The order of the Chargers depth chart is our best guess based on how the 2022 season shook out. Of course, there is plenty of time for this to change both with the players the team adds in the draft and the training camp battles we will inevitably see.

Quarterback (2): Justin Herbert, Easton Stick

Running back (4): Austin Ekeler, Joshua Kelley, Isaiah Spiller, Larry Rountree

In total, the LA Chargers have 63 players on the roster. If the team does not add extra draft capital in the 2023 NFL Draft then that number will grow to 70 players. Only 53 players can make the active roster for Week 1.

Of course, some of the players currently on the Chargers depth chart are not projected to make the roster and will only end up being camp bodies. But when you look at the starters across the roster, it is hard to find any concrete spots for incoming rookies.
