If there was one concrete takeaway from the LA Chargers' frustrating Week 1 loss to kickstart the season it is that we don't always know what is going to happen in a matchup. After shutting down Miami's potent offense a year ago, the same Chargers team (that is much healthier this go around) struggled immensely, allowing over 500 yards of offense and 36 points.

This was a good reminder for the rest of the 2023 season that despite all of the reasons why the Chargers will seemingly win a game, there are also reasons why the team might end up losing that fans tend to overlook.

Today, we are bringing you it all. There are two reasons why fans should be fairly optimistic about getting a win in this matchup. But if the Chargers disappoint, the reasons why are predictable.

Reason the Chargers will win: A massive quarterback discrepancy

Justin Herbert is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire sport. Ryan Tannehill looked like he might just be the worst starting quarterback in the league in Week 1. Granted, it was a small sample size, but Tannehill really looked like he was going to be this year's Matt Ryan and absolutely fall off the regression cliff.

There are warning signs for Tannehill as well. He started to struggle down the stretch last year before getting hurt against the Chargers in what was a key game late in the season. Tannehill is healthy now and he does not look like someone who can win an offensive battle.

The quarterback position is the most influential on the entire football field and it is where the Chargers have their biggest advantage in this game. That could end up being huge.
