3. Tuli Tuipulotu

This one is a bit cheating as the other two players on this list are not on the roster at all while Tuli Tuipulotu was just taken in the second round by the LA Chargers. However, what earns him a spot on this list is the fact that every other rookie that the Chargers drafted signed thier rookie deals except Tuipulotu.

Tuipulotu was still at rookie minicamp and it is only a matter of time before he signs his deal with the team so that should not be a concern for fans. This is not going to be another Joey Bosa situation and even in that situation, the two sides were able to get the business done.

The bigger argument here is the argument for Tuipulotu to start on the Chargers in his rookie season. In the long-term picture, the USC pass rusher is viewed as someone who will replace Khalil Mack after this season and blossom into a starting role.

However, Tuipulotu showcased a ton of versatility at the collegiate level and has shown the ability to make a difference on the inside. There absolutely is a world in which one of the interior defensive linemen gets banged up to start the year and the rookie is getting starting snaps as a pass-rushing defensive end.

Plus, Joey Bosa is not necessarily the most durable edge rusher in the league and Mack is only getting up there in age so there is absolutely a world in which Tuipulotu is even starting on the edge in 2023.
