The LA Chargers did not play in Week 5 and had a chance to look around at the rest of the league and survey any potential trade targets before the upcoming trade deadline. Week 5 is a pivotal week in the NFL as many teams had games that would shape the rest of their respective seasons.

There were several teams that went into Week 5 with a fork-in-the-road moment ahead. A win could have changed the trajectory of the season while a loss may have cemented certain teams into looking ahead at the 2024 NFL Draft.

1. Hunter Henry

The New England Patriots fell to 1-4 on the season and it might just be a matter of time until we see Bill Belichick offsetting assets. If so, tight end Hunter Henry makes a lot of sense as a trade candidate as he is in the last year of his contract with New England.

The Chargers could really use Henry in this year's tight end room to provide a boost in both the passing game and blocking game. Gerald Everett is fine as the TE1 but the room as a whole has struggled to block for two seasons now. With Donald Parham suffering a wrist injury, the room is even thinner.

Nobody would bat an eye if the Chargers sent a future seventh-round pick along with Tre' McKitty to New England for Henry. It would allow the Patriots to take a chance on a younger tight end with one more year of control and would give the Chargers an instant boost.
