The Los Angeles Chargers used their first-round NFL Draft pick on an explosive, play-making wide receiver in Quentin Johnston.
Johnston caught 60 passes for 1,069 yards and six touchdowns as a senior at TCU last season. Those are strong numbers for sure, but did they justify being the second wide receiver off the board?
When you dig a bit deeper, it begins to make sense. The Chargers wide outs didn't contribute much after the catch in 2022, but Johnson was second in the FBS at 8.9 yards after catch.
