The LA Chargers defeated the Cleveland Browns in what was the game of the week in Week 5. This was an instant battle between two really good football teams and is going to be in the running for the best game of the 2021 season.

The Chargers battled through a 14-point deficit and continued to put the pedal to the metal to get past the Browns in what was an absolute slugfest. Not only was it extremely entertaining to watch, but a big win like this against a great team means a lot for the Bolts.

As we do every week here at Bolt Beat, we are going to look at some of the takes following Week 5 and declare whether or not they are overreactions or if they are justified.

Take 1: The LA Chargers are the best team in the AFC

The LA Chargers are now 4-1 and are going through the hardest part of the schedule. The Bolts have wins over the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Football teams. There are four quality wins there no team is a pushover.

The Chargers' only loss to the Dallas Cowboys was ugly but was more of the Chargers beating themselves than anything else. A loss is a loss but you have to be extremely happy with how the Chargers have played.

That is just it. Yes, it is early in the season and anything can happen the rest of the way. But the Chargers have played some really good football teams and have played extremely well in those games. Will it hold up all season? We will wait and see. But after a comeback win aganst a really good Browns team it is safe to say that the Chargers are the best team in the AFC.

We will hold off saying the NFL for one more week because of the 5-0 Arizona Cardinals. However, if the Chargers go into Baltimore and take care of business next week then that won't be a discussion either.

Verdict: Not an overreaction
