The LA Chargers head into Week 16 in a playoff position in the AFC with an 8-6 record. While the Chargers are currently in a playoff spot, the AFC playoff picture is extremely crowded and the Bolts will not make the playoffs if they do not take care of business.

If the Chargers win out then they will make the playoffs regardless of what else happens in the AFC. If they lose even one game they are going to need help in certain outcomes in the final three weeks. However, because most of the AFC playoff teams play each other, a 2-1 record in the final three is probably enough to get in.

A 3-0 finish is obviously the best-case scenario as the Bolts do not need any other help and can head into the playoffs with momentum. But will that happen?

Predicting the final three games of the LA Chargers 2021 regular season:

Week 16: LA Chargers 34, Houston Texans 20

This is the score prediction that I gave in my Chargers-Texans betting preview and I am sticking with it. The Bolts are dealing with some COVID-19 issues ahead of this game but the Houston Texans are dealing with worse issues and are already a far worse team.

The Chargers cannot overlook the Texans in the slightest but this should be the easiest win of the season. Houston simply is not a great football team and it is hard to see Davis Mills and that offense keeping up with Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense.

This game should look very similar to the New York Giants game from Week 14, where the outcome was never really in question. The question should not be whether or not the Chargers win, but if they cover and we have them covering the now-10-point spead.
