The LA Chargers shocked the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season and moved to 2-1 on the season. In doing so, the Chargers also gave the Chiefs their first-ever losing record with Patrick Mahomes under center.

Now that we are three games into the 2021 season we can start bringing our weekly LA Charger roster rankings following each game. There has been enough evidence to give us a strong idea of the top-10 players on the roster; something that will be changing weekly.

Ranking the top 10 players on the LA Chargers roster after Week 3:

10. Rashawn Slater

Rashawn Slater has been great for the LA Chargers thus far. Slater has been an important part of the team's rebuilt offensive line as he has properly blocked Justin Herbert's blind side. In three games Slater has allowed just five pressures (one hit, no sacks) on Herbert.

Slater is only going to get better as time goes on and it is really impressive how good he has been this early in his career. Charger fans should feel beyond blessed. The team finally got a cornerstone left tackle to build the offensive line around.

9. Asante Samuel Jr.

Second-round pick Asante Samuel Jr. has been slightly more impactful than his first-round counterpart. While that is by no means an attempt to downplay what Slater has done, Samuel has simply been really good on the defensive side of the ball and is one of the Chargers' most important defenders.

This goes deeper than Samuel's two interceptions in three games. This also has to do with the fact that Samuel has played 186 snaps and has done an overall swell job. Samuel has played the third-most defensive snaps on the entire team and has been productive. That is not easy for a rookie to do.
