The LA Chargers have the toughest opponent that they are going to play all year in Week 3 as they are on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs. The one benefit of the matchup being this early in the year is that the team won't have to deal with freezing temperatures.

However, the flip side of that coin is that the Chargers have an early test before they are full strength. After dropping Week 2's contest against the Dallas Cowboys, the Bolts are at risk of starting the season with a losing record with more tough games ahead of them.

Everyone knows how great the Chiefs are and they are essentially penciled in to be in the AFC Championship Game at least every single year. The Chiefs have one of the most explosive offenses in NFL history, which fits today's game perfectly.

As part of an ongoing series here on Bolt Beat, we will be highlighting one player from the enemy team that would be perfect on the LA Chargers. This is obviously never going to happen, but if the Bolts could steal a player, we want to make a definitive selection.

Travis Kelce is the one player from the Kansas City Chiefs who would be perfect on the LA Chargers

Patrick Mahomes is obviously the best player on the Chiefs as he is the best player in football but the Chargers do not need a quarterback. Justin Herbert is one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the league and he recently joined Patrick Mahomes as the only quarterbacks with 5,000 passing yards in their first 17 games.

Tyreek Hill is another interesting candidate but the Bolts don't really need him as well. He would obviously add another weapon to the passing game but at receiver, the Bolts are good with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Instead, Travis Kelce is the most interesting what-if addition as he would slide into the starting tight end spot, taking the job from Jared Cook. Nothing against Jared Cook but Kelce would be an immense upgrade.

Kelce is well on his way to being the greatest tight end of all time and he is once again putting up monster numbers in 2021. Kelce already has 13 receptions for 185 yards and three touchdowns... in only two games!

The LA Chargers are going to throw everything they can at slowing Kelce down in Week 3. The team usually has relatively good success against Tyreek Hill when they throw Michael Davis at him and the Chiefs are missing that third great option in Sammy Watkins.

The run defense for the Bolts was awful last week but Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been fairly disappointing to start the season. That could mean that Kelce is responsible for taking on the brunt of the work in the offense, and if the Chargers can stick Derwin James on him and lock him down, the Chiefs are in a lot of trouble.

Travis Kelce is the best tight end in the league and would be just as exceptional with Justin Herbert throwing him passes instead of Patrick Mahomes.
