Why the LA Chargers don't have to fear Russell Wilson at all

The AFC West is undoubtedly the best division in football as three of the four teams really went for it with the additions that they made. With the Kansas City Chiefs already being the established contender, the LA Chargers, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders are all looking to make their mark.

Denver is the most interesting AFC West foe for the Chargers as they were really just a quarterback short of being a great team the last two seasons. Wilson could launch the Broncos into being a harder team for the Chargers to beat than the Chiefs, which is less than ideal with the Chargers' opening a Super Bowl window this season.

However, while he is a Super Bowl-winning quarterback and one of the biggest names in the sport, the Chargers do not need to fear Russell Wilson at all this season (or beyond). It will upset Bronco fans to hear, but Wilson is just another QB on the schedule for the Bolts to get past.

3 reasons why the LA Chargers don't have to fear Russell Wilson at all:

1. He has never beaten the Chargers!

Russell Wilson has defeated 30 of 32 NFL teams in his career. He obviously has never beaten the Seattle Seahawks as he has never played against them (he will get his chance to in Week 1) and he has never beaten the Chargers.

Even at the height of the Legion of Doom powers, Wilson has never been able to overcome the powder blue. The last time he faced the Chargers was in Seattle in 2018 and the Chargers comfortably defeated Wilson with a pick-six from Desmond King.

Prior to that it was another relatively comfortable win with the Chargers beating the defending Super Bowl Champions in San Diego in 2014. Granted, Wilson is going to double his career games against the Chargers just in 2022 but there has to be an aura of swagger with the Bolts knowing that Wilson has never gotten over the hump.

That is far from the only reason why the Chargers do not need to fear Russell Wilson, though.
