3 Giants the LA Chargers must exploit to win in Week 14
By Jason Reed
The LA Chargers control their own destiny when it comes to making the playoffs in 2021 and the team seemingly has an easy challenge in front of them in Week 14 in the New York Giants. The 4-8 Giants are one of the worst teams in the league and are coming at a great time as the Chargers can try to pick up momentum down the stretch with an 8-5 record.
Of course, no NFL team is a pushover and while the Giants are the easiest opponent the Bolts have faced all season the team still cannot let its guard down. There is a huge game ahead of the Bolts on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs and if they look past the Giants the Giants will make them pay for it.
The Bolts are going to be focused (hopefully) on the New York Giants and should target certain players to come away with the W.
3 New York Giants for the LA Chargers to exploit in Week 14:
1. Mike Glennon
This is the easiest possible one to exploit as Mike Glennon is not a very good NFL quarterback. Daniel Jones is still out with a neck injury and Glennon should be slated to start. Glennon cleared concussion protocol this week and will play against the Chargers with Jake Fromm being the backup just in case.
The Giants are also dealing with a myriad of offensive injuries so they should not be able to score many points against the Bolts. There is the fear of Saquon Barkley having a vintage Saquon game against this run defense but over the last few weeks, the run defense has improved.
If the Chargers can get Mike Glennon into various third and six+ situations then it is going to be a great day for the Bolts. While the Chargers have struggled with third-down defense this season, it is Mike Glennon we are talking about. Make him beat you and chances are he won't.
