Tom Telesco certainly is polarizing among LA Chargers fans. The Chargers have only made the playoffs three times in 10 seasons under Telesco with only two playoff wins. However, the most popular players on the roster were also brought in by Telesco.
A lot of fans may only look at the negative moves that Telesco has made and trust us, there is an entirely separate article for those. Today, we are diving into the 10 best moves that Telesco has made in his 10 years as Chargers GM.
10. Chargers sign (then re-sign) Morgan Fox
Morgan Fox was one of three savvy signings by the Chargers after the 2022 NFL Draft. The team brought in three veterans in Fox, Kyle Van Noy and Bryce Callahan. Each of the three players ended up playing a big role with Fox being the team's best interior pass rusher.
It seemed like Fox was destined to get a much bigger payday this offseason for his efforts in 2022 but that was not the case. The Chargers were able to re-sign Fox on a very team-friendly deal, keeping him in Los Angeles for at least another two years.
9. Chargers sign Michael Davis as a UDFA (and re-sign him)
One of the best undrafted free agents in Telesco's tenure is Michael Davis, who has really blossomed into a solid cornerback that played like one of the best CB1s in the entire NFL after the bye week last season.
It has been rather up and down with Davis and the coaching change certainly did not help his stock. However, the Chargers were able to not only find a breakout player but keep him on the roster, which makes him a better move than bringing in the likes of Adrian Phillips or Desmond King.
